I don't sure to answer your question,
As I know less chars domain almost registered. Some people registered only for speculative.
So It's not surprise that price becomes higher.
This domain is great for the right person especially tour/travel company.
But if this field competitor doesn't interest this auction, you may get it with only few bucks.
I wish that's the way it is :-D

Yes I know CTrip.com it's popular china travel site.
But for DTrip.com I don't think you want to use as Denmark Trip or Dallas Trip as owner suggest.
I'm sure you want to build Daniel Trip lol :-D
However please keep your limit bidding cause people often wait last minutes to bid.
I used to auction some products, last minutes price jump from 300 to 1000 then I'm mad.
