A lot of people say Andrew Weil is more of a salseman than an alternative health expert. The bottom line is that he is promoting and popularizing ways to prevent disease instead of diagnosis and mitigation. As with anything else, you can't believe everything someone says. Read between the lines.

pretty interesting, but not sure how much i believe the water drinking bit and the turkey/tryptofan. thanksgiving always kills me after chowing on 4 courses of bird! the "other white meat" and cheese, nothing.

This is a sad website when they list their #1 myth as you needing to drink 8 glasses of water/day. You definitely need MORE than 8 glasses of water per day NOT COUNTING milk and other things that you ingest since your body uses water to digest those foods. In fact it takes EIGHT TIMES as much water to digest protein as it does carbs or fat. Your hydration needs are raised even further if you conduct any vigorous physical activities (which everyone should do 6 days/week). Just sad that this misinformation is spread by supposed doctors.
