One of the reviewers says, "I like to think we can end the BS drug war without resorting to propaganda tactics..." I'd like to think that, too. I'd also like to think that I could make a bazillion dollars by sitting on my ass and wishing for it really hard. Let's all ta...

Three words: Post Hoc Fallacy. It is obvious, that criminalization, drug laws, etc all feed crime. However, it is also obvious that crime is not wholly dependent on single factors. When making assessments on the etiology of crime, one can not overlook the necessary hierarchy of factors. Take Alcohol Prohibition for instance, it happens during 30s, and what else have happened during 30s? The Great Depression. Now which one would have bigger impact on society, in general, the great depression or the prohibition? To explain the significance of The Great Depression you might try the following: Think of incidents like Lehman Brothers Bankruptcy and the recent collapse of the economy, and let the time run a bit. There you have it: Crime. Which, of course, should tell you where we are going right now. But, of course, you will have to live through this one, and will have a lot of time reconsidering capitalism, individualism and all the -isms you have been brainwashed to believe. Anyways. The first chart also does not really explain the ups and downs in the crime rate, but the general economy does. Stagflation of 70s, crime rises. Booming economy of short lived Reaganomics during 80s, crime falls. Unavoidable economic downfall of the very same late Reagonomics during early 90s, crime rises. Clinton Administration and fiscal conservation, crime falls. So, I am sure war on drugs play its part a an additive but not the cause for the spikes in such a general chart. Learn reading these stuff, you're gonna have to live with them going down and down.

I don't think it's that simple, but it's important to consider this connection to remedy the crime situation.

The last one is flawed, as population itself is going through exponential growth.

This problem most likely will never be solved completely, but we need to be aware that it exists and that we can make a little difference

all the societal ills associated with pot use stems not from the use of pot, but the prohibition effort itself.
