This is a rule I've had many debates with many englis teachers over. From the page: "A or An? According to The Oxford Dictionary of American Usage and Style, "The indefinite article a is used before words beginning with a consonant sound, including /y/ and /w/ sounds. The... more

From a quick glance most of the grammatical rules on this page appears to be correct. Although his take on the word "unique" is a bit dated. Sure when it was introduced in the early 17th century it had a strict meaning from there in has evolved to include a meaning of distinctiveness. *bacchicdance, a side ways thumbs is equivalent to just leaving a review without thumbing it.

I wish there were a sideways thumb... While the information here is absolutely great, the navigation and organization leave something to be desired. Alphabetizing the issues/questions that people might have could potentially be frustrating to the user Do I look under H for "her vs she"? S for "she vs her"? Neither. See I for "It's her vs It's she". Aroo? Also, when one jumps down to the answer one seeks, there's no 'Back to the top' link, something I find extremely annoying. Your mileage may vary, but I'm predisposed to laud any site that teaches proper usage--ergo, upthumb.

Dr. Grammar should be on everyone's "hit lists" of good places to go for proper syntax and overall written usage (and I'm sure someone will find something wrong with this comment LOL!)
