It looks grand and that's how it was meant to be. These are not genuine early middle age ruins but a 'folly', a life-size garden ornament built during 1800's by the former owners of the Wimpole Hall manor house near Cambridge, now property of the National Trust. Obviously, it requires a generous 'garden', and that's how it looks from the distance
