sweetsfoods discovered 2 months ago- After maintaining several blogs for a couple of years, learning about web publishing and observing different niches, I have come to the conclusion that success for web publishers mainly relies on how much passion you have for the topic you cover.

dlaff rated 7 weeks ago- Web sites are like any other endeavor, if you do what you love, the money and success will often follow (if that's what you're looking for). Great post, my favorite site on blog creation and marketing.

jgogolin rated 2 months ago- This is so true and so absolutely worth saying again and again. Passion is what counts. In my own work, the pieces of writing I'm proudest of years later are the ones I've cared deeply about. And I'm about to start a new Teaching Sells learning environment based on just that idea.

JamesDuthie rated 2 months ago- Maki talks about the importance of passion in maintaining a successful blog.

karpo4 rated 2 months ago- From the page: "you should be obsessed or in love with the topic youâ€re writing about. Everything else can and will be sorted out over time. Youâ€ll learn new skills. Youâ€ll make new friends and youâ€ll know exactly how to grow your site. Donâ€t worry."

Not exactly a ground-breaking insight, you might say. But let me explain how I personally came to realize this. I've built quite a few sites throughout my life online and the only ones that remain or thrive are the ones covering topics, for which I have a very deep and strong interest. The other sites gradually slowed down and died because I only had a passing fancy for them.

UltraRob1 rated 2 months ago- Here's the secret to doing well online

BambooForest rated 2 months ago- Maki conveys the importance of writing about what is truly meaningful to the author of a blog. If a blogger writes about what they are not passionate about, the end product is vastly diminished. And in the end, not influential and not profitable.

tyropearl rated 2 months ago- I loved the words you used to describe this Maki - "You don't want word bots that can churn out the daily post, you want a fanatic, someone who loves reading and writing the same stuff even on their off-days. Trust me, he or she will enjoy the whole process and you all will have a more meaningful relationship"

Ramoney rated 2 months ago- Ah passion, without it everything is just a chore

gratitude-magic rated 2 months ago- Great post on passion in blogging.
