throthrem rated 4 months ago- War will hit the Us within the next ten years, I believe. I hope to be gone by then.

kdfrawg rated 8 months ago- Excellent ideas, and good to consider, but perhaps the text does not completely tie the two together. Still, a good piece of work. Thought-provoking, at the very least.

DickBeldin rated 8 months ago- There is more to consider. I think that Bush and Cheney have seen the handwriting on the wall. The U.S. debt is mostly held by China, the single biggest threat to our superpower status. The administration is not as dumb as it pretends to be. China is to be our successor as the sole nuclear superpower. In order to maintain any semblance of authority for the USA, China must be convinced to treat us as a valued ally, not a threat. There may already be a quid-pro-quo in the works.

solasaurus rated 8 months ago- This well sourced article discusses the historical origins of the US dollar as the standard of exchange in world trade, and how this led to the US dollar hegemony with numerous benefits for the United States. It then goes on to discuss how huge debts run up in the US have begun to debase the currency with the consequence of several alternative currencies becoming the standard in other parts of the world. Finally the author argues that we can avoid World War III by avoiding support for the US currency. To find out more you'll have to read the article.

barrelhead rated 8 months ago- I'm not sure I really followed everything this article had to say. Oh well. From the site: "US imperialism would not be able to pursue its destructive policies without the unlimited supply of blank cheques extended to it by the rest of the world, so it is the responsibility of the rest of the world to withdraw that source of funding. The beast has to be killed by attacking it at the point where it is most vulnerable. Meanwhile, if enough people in the US work to ensure that the next elections install a president and representatives who undertake to abandon the pursuit of Empire and instead seek to reintegrate the US into the international community as a law-abiding, fiscally-responsible, non-polluting member, the result will be a far safer and more stable global order, world economy and environment."

aacool rated 8 months ago- This is by far one of the most reasoned articles I've read on dollar hegemony, with extensive references that are worth reading in themselves
