imazul rated 10 months ago- The necronomicon is real.... You'll see when Cthulhu wakes up..... you'll see

jediliska rated 11 months ago- How ironic that giving a thumbs-up to this site made my number of sites I liked raise to 2,666. :) Sit on that for a while, will ya?

masked2007 rated 12 months ago- From the page: "According to Alhazred, the Old Ones were beings from "beyond the spheres", presumably the spheres of the planets, and in the cosmography of that period this would imply the region of the fixed stars or beyond. They were superhuman and extrahuman. They mated with humans and begat monstrous offspring. They passed forbidden knowledge to humankind. They were forever seeking a channel into our plane of existence."

FredBerenger rated 30 months ago- First of all, I hope you all know this is a work of pure ficton. However, it is well-constructed and quite entertaining. It also reminds me of my past obsession with all things Lovecraftians.

Alienor rated 33 months ago- People, we know it's not real. I don't think whoever wrote that FAQ was trying to convince anyone that it is. I don't remember ever seeing anyone putting a disclaimer on a website about mythological creatures saying "Disclaimer: minotaurs don't exist". I fail to see what's different here. What makes the Necronomicon so fascinating is precisely the fact that it was made up with such complexity, and written about by so many different people. This website is just continuing that. Stop looking for every occasion you have to criticize something. Now that that's said, this page is pretty entertaining.

greybirds rated 39 months ago- For Christ's sake, "Abdul Alhazred" was the name Lovecraft picked for his alter ego as a kid: All-has-read. He liked to read. Get it. I'm torn between awe at his ability to manipulate the real world through effective writing and a mixing of real and fictional references, and pity at the people who can't be bothered to check in with said real world from time to time.
