To do at least once in your life! You will never forget it... It's best to follow the course in English, then you can really enjoy the sense of humor of Goenka, the master teacher, even if it's on video tapes.

From the page: "The technique of Vipassana Meditation is taught at ten-day residential courses during which participants learn the basics of the method, and practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results."

i've done two 10 day vipassana retreats, and they were fantastic. not everyone enjoys them though. if you do one, you'll get the most out of it by having as few expectations as possible. vipassana is an especially great meditation technique for people who need to feel more physically centred, as it focuses on becoming aware of sensations in the body. Those courses were, for me, better than any holiday, or anything else you could do in a ten day period. I could really use another now, as I've slipped into a very lazy meditation routine... if you have the slightest interest in meditation, spending 10 days in silence, or getting a break for the monkey mind, do a course, and don't wait around. They run worldwide, and are free - you give a donation at the end (if you want to - and you will) but you decide how much to give, with no pressure whatsoever.

I've finished the first 10 day course at Dhamma Abha, great experience and it changes my life completely. Now I'm not hesitate anymore to walk on this path the Buddha have discovered.

I have just completed my second 10-day Course. I recommend it to everyone I meet, give it a try. It is the best thing that I have ever done.

Having just completed a 10-day course of Vipassana meditation this orginization. I believed it was now time to join some my brothers and sisters. I highly recommend everyone takes the time to do a course with them. Peace and love to all.

I highly recommend a vipassana course for everyone. It took me 8 years from when I heard about the 10 day courses to when I finally leaped at the challenge. It changed me. I feel this is the sort of practice that is necessary for the global change of consciousness which is necessary for peace on earth.

For 8 years now I have been practicing vipassana meditation as taught by Goenkaji. It requires doing a 10 day residential course which is actually quite difficult, but incredibly rewarding. I learned more about myself in that first 10 days than in any previous 10 years.
