Great idea that could revolutionize medicine

Have you heard of form over function? Well when it comes to the medical world a more appropriate catch phrase would be fail over function. There's no room for looking at pretty packaging when it hurts your health.

The Paper Cup pill pouch.
Probably one of the better ideas on the page. How nifty to have a cup wherever you are! The obvious downside is the fact it creates more litter. When you delve deeper other problems come up, like the fact that even though it will hold water for a bit it's not water proof at all, or the fact that photo sensitive medications or vitamins would degrade easily. The good old reuseable white bottles have been in service for so long for a reason. Still though a good idea in a few circumstances.

Candy wrapper medication
There are two very outstanding reasons this is the most horrible idea on the page. The first being that any moron could figure out, is that it looks like candy. Not only does it look like candy, but the whole godamned point was for it to look like candy. Why why why why? Who the hell decided to look common sense in the eye and pull the trigger? There is a reason medication looks like medication. You don't want children swallowing up whatever they find. Hell you don't want house guests swallowing up whatever they find. For some people you might as well make those cyanide tables. Every day drugs like even those penis pills can be deadly to the wrong person. Hell and then there's the fact that there are people like my grandpa who would unwrap four at a time and stuff 'em down. Thanks for killing my grandpa(or giving him a massive boner) Jerk. And then there's the technical reason this is dumb. Candy wrappers are made that way because of the lack of precision it takes to cut the ends. I guarantee unless super spot checking laser guided multi-million dollar robots are put to use some instructions or active ingredients are gonna get cut off. That leaves you with more sick and or dead people. And you guessed it, more lawsuits.

Rolling Band Aid
I admit. I thought it was clever till I considered it deeply. BAD! The reason bandages come in those nifty little single packages is too keep them clean. These are going to eventually get dirt and dust stuck to the sides enough to harbor bacteria. The bacteria fighting adhesive is gonna wear off the sides and you're going to get a nasty old infection.

You are getting better Day by Day!
the magical shrinking pills. Alright, everyone who wants more super germs resistant to antibiotics raise your hand. No one? Oh, just you crazy bio weapon guy in the corner? Well you don't count you're not a human. Ask any doctor or nurse or pharmasist, or nursing assistant, or that lady who works at the hospital reception office or the guy who drives an ambulance or the guy standing outside a rite aid who's wrangling up carts for a living. You do not want to underemphasize finishing your dosage in anyway. Right now, and it happens every day, people start to feel better before they're done taking their antibiotic prescription. So what do they do? they stop taking them. A week later they're sick again and circulating something just a little more drug resistant through the general population. These guys are putting on a boot camp for germs. IT's to the point that with some antibiotics by law the patient must be watched every day while taking his pills. Super Bacteria aside, yeah you still don't want to underemphansize finishing your treatment.

making pills look even more like candy is pretty much the worst idea i've heard all week
metalkpretty1 rated 6 months ago
not particularly good ideas. I'm sure I'll see this content a million more times so I have to thumb down now to save my sanity.

Medical products should NOT be in non-sterile containers or look like candy.

Those dice are so geeky! I wish I had some!

These ideas are terrible. Designers should stay within their specialization. Medical products follow strict standards and should be sterile. Candy wrappers? You might as well shape the pills like pez for the kids.
