The new rule pushed through by FCC Chairman Kevin Martin lifts a 30-year old ban on companies seeking to own both a newspaper and television or radio station in the same city. Michael Copps was one of two FCC Commissioners to vote against the rule."

- Very powerful statement of the obvious that few seem to realise by Copps. Every time a market capitalist (which by the way is something that I AM) tells you "theres a free market press", use Copps' position :- VIEWERS HAVE BECOME THE PRODUCT THE NEWS MEDIA SELL TO ADVERTISERS. ADVERTISERS SERVE THE GOVERNMENT. THE NEWS IS IN THE BUSINESS OF BRAINWASHING PEOPLE TO SERVE THE GOVERNMENT, BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT PAYS BETTER IN A MARKET WHERE NATURAL RESOURCES ARE STOLEN BY A FEW PEOPLE. YOU ARE THE PRODUCT, MUCH LIKE THE FREE MARKET TREATS CHICKEN. YOU ARE THE CHICKEN IN THE KFC, NOT THE GUY EATING IT, WHEN IT COMES TO BROADCAST MEDIA.
