Kahlila Gibran thought of me as soon as she saw this page, knowing I have a reputation as the Beau Brummel of Royston Vasey, though I must confess that is not hard to be when Oxfam or old potato sacks appear to garb the rest of the village. Click Header to find out how you too can be a style leader and arbiter of fashion. The picture was painted from a photograph of Lady Clogiron and I attending the LaLa Land Mayors Ball.

One of the best guides to dandyism I have come across - either online or in books. Dandyism.net includes lovely fashion tips, a canon on dandyism, links and a fine blog that brings the dandy's perambulations into the 21st C. I recommend reading Jules Barbey D'Aurevilly's "Dandyism" (1844) while sipping a fine white wine and then casting a discerning eye over this site.

Pure eye candy . . . though I don't look at him the same way since the sordid matter of the airliner toilet. Not very dandy-like at all, Ralph. Actually, you're a fake dandy, a fake Avenger and a fake advocate of safe sex. A fake all round.

Oscar Wilde and George Bernard Shaw were dandies, to be a dandy is to be a relic from the old times where fancy clothed men and youngsters walked with canes in the crowded streets of London.
