SexyJames discovered 5 months ago- DailyTech - IBM Proposes One Computer to Run Entire Internet

stevegparker rated 5 months ago- Shows a clear lack of understanding of the meaning of clustering, DR, HA, etc. Let alone the fact that the hosting of "the internet" under IBM would not make it the internet at all; a global, intercoordinated yet non-hierarchical system, all under the control of IBM? I'm not sure that Japan, Germany, Iran, etc etc... would agree that it amounts to the same thing.

Cyclohexane01 rated 5 months ago- IBM loses. End of story.

rootkit rated 5 months ago- Skynet.... Lol....

shewitt-au rated 5 months ago- From page: "IBM launched an Epic project with an almost unfathomable goal -- to develop a single supercomputer capable of running the entire internet as a web application. The project, codenamed Kittyhawk (detailed in a white paper by IBM) created quite the stir in internet technology community."

crazymarf rated 5 months ago- One company with power to control the entire internet? There goes net neutrality. IBM can kiss my ass.

ichbinbored rated 5 months ago- Whole internet on 1 computer + lots and lots of power surges = boom!

alpinestar rated 5 months ago- Hold on rebooting the internet 4 .... 3 ....
