i wasted my time doing this when 2.0 RC came out. Trust me, by the time you get all of your extensions modified, the majority of them will be updated. Also, as others have posted, it doesn't always work.

Useful if you absolutely must have an add-on but it it's at your own risk. I'd recommend just using the ones that are made to be compatible.

Actually, I tried this and it got past the download now button, but once it did a compatibility check after it was installed, and said it was for an older version.

Nice idea about how to get Firefox to *allow* you to download supposedly "out of date" extensions. But you do risk messing up your Firefox if you install the wrong add ons.

I haven't tried this, but it looks like it might work if you want some add ons and are using Firefox 3...Or you could just use Firefox 2 until 3 becomes more compatible.
