HarleyJane18 discovered 4 months ago- From the page: "Darpa-funded scientists have found a drug that eliminates sleepiness with a nasal spray of a key brain hormone... with no apparent side-effects."

liquidiridium rated 9 days ago- From the page: "The military routinely administers amphetamines to pilots flying long distances, and has funded research into new drugs like the stimulant modafinil and orexin A in an effort to help troops stay awake with the fewest side effects. However, Orexin A may be a safer alternative. Stimulants been used to combat sleepiness, can be addictive and often have side effects, including raising blood pressure or causing mood swings." oh, YAY.

alpinestar rated 9 days ago- so you can work more and sleep less. as in melatonin production wouldn't be of relevance.

- Color me skeptical.

spostareduro rated 3 months ago- Darpa is no doubt interested in the spray for it's promise of keeping soldiers awake and alert during battle, but for those suffering from narcolepsy, the discovery may offers a potential treatment. Even those with less severe sleep disorders may be interested.

manthony007 rated 3 months ago- I need to get me some. That way I can work 20 or more hours in a day rather than my current 12 or so. This article will interest anyone who likes the idea of a new brain chemical developed that replaces sleep. Trials went well they say and it has medical applications too.
