- Gigantic sinkhole/the Hellmouth/the giant crater the War of the Worlds tripods came from opens up and swallows several houses in Guatemala. Perhaps this is earth's way of saying "Okay, world if you could stop talking about Anna Nichole and Britney's shaved head for a few seconds I've got a coupla things to discuss with you. You know, things like, oh, global warming, the fact that the rainforests are being erased, ecosystems are in danger of collapsing, animals are going extinct... You aren't listening to me, are you?
