I'm thinking I should become an official "Cuddle Lifeguard" to organize these things. Sounds like a great idea to meet new people and such. Except for that whole thing about me not liking strangers or anything new, it's perfect.

What's with all the parade-rainers? This isn't so weird. People do it all the time at raves. Human beings need more non-sexual touching. Touch is therapeutic. Babies who aren't held have been shown to have less than optimal immune systems and such. I see no reason that shouldn't continue to be true into our adulthood. Short of raves and dancing (salsa, swing, etc), people don't really touch one another just for the sake of it. I would like to be able to feel another adult human being put their arms around me and pull me close and stroke my hair for it's own sake, with no sexual or romantic agenda. Even better if I have a crop of people in one place to choose from. Where does it say the only socially acceptable reasons for showing affection are required to be romantic or sexual in nature? Poo on that. I like to cuddle. I make a point of having cuddly friends. And don't even get me started on spooning.

I was totally into this concept until I read that it isn't supposed to be "a free-for-all, a pseudo-orgy or a grope-fest." What a shame...
