The original Cube was fairly fun, but more notable for being the first "good-graphics" Open-Source FPS. A number of games used this engine, my favorite being AssaultCube (check it out!), which was incredibly addicting. Sauerbraten, like Cube 1, was so-so in terms of "fun," but the graphics were a huge step up. Hopefully, more games like AssaultCube will spring from this engine. These games represent some of the most promising Open-Source FPS projects ever. For RTS fans, check out the spectacular project TA: Spring.
