Figjam rated 11 months ago- That would be the best page I've seen for someone starting out.
ngenie rated 11 months ago- At first, the title put me off a bit. I was expecting to see some crappy instructions for the wannabe-h4x0rz.Instead, I found a nice guide to the basic Unix commands. This guide is especially neat because it's not just another commands cheat sheet. The reader is also introduced to how stuff works on a Unix system and how to combine the commands with scripting and IO redirecting - the thing that actually makes the simple Unix commands so powerful.

metavalent rated 24 months ago- From the page: "This lecture takes you through the basic commands and then shows you how to combine them in simple patterns or idioms to provide sophisticated functionality like histogramming. This lecture assumes you know what a shell is and that you have some basic familiarity with UNIX."
