If old, stale computer jokes were cars, this one would be an 1870 Marcus prototype.

None of these are funny at all.

@UncleDeercamp: If you were really talkin about programming *geeks* then you would never say they can't afford to drive anything besides a Geo Metro. Anybody who's really a *geek* in his area of interest can afford to fly even a plane. If you think you're a geek but can't afford to live a brilliant life then.you.aren't.a.geek, man. Truth hurts, I know.

And btw, it's humor. Why can't some people stop taking jokes in a f***in serious way?

But they aren't cars.

If programming languages were cars..."Ada is a tank. A butt-ugly tank that never breaks down. People laugh uncontrollably if you tell them you drive Ada, but really, do you want to be driving a sports car in a war zone?" Worth a chuckle if you're a programmer...

Usually I run from car metaphors as fast as possible, but these were actually somewhat humorous.

I've seen several of these (who on SU hasn't), but I thought that this was a particularly good one.

As if a programming geek could ever afford to drive anything besides a Geo Metro.

"If programming languages were cars..." But why is there no PHP? :D Still an interesting read.
