AlanEstrada rated 8 weeks ago- Wow

rationale rated 3 months ago- McCain admits the Iraq war was about oil!

BettyJoBradley rated 3 months ago- OF COURSE THE IRAQ WAR WAS OVER OIL. Why McCain admitted that is beyond me, however. It's interesting, albeit not surprising, that the media have done very little with McCain's admission.

Hamfish rated 3 months ago- Well absolutely amazing. As if 99% of the thinking worlds population couldn't see through the Bush administration's deception and figure out the glaringly obvious fact that the invasion of Iraq was nothing other than to secure an oil supply for the US.

nadinejoy rated 3 months ago- Madness! Is this the only candidate that speaks the truth? ..albeit a slip of the tongue? At a town hall meeting today, Senator McCain made a stunning admission when he announced that his energy policy would aim to reduce our dependence on Middle East oil, which would in turn ensure that we never have to fight another war there again. (thanks Perry2801)

AvangionQ rated 3 months ago- "My friends, I will have an energy policy which will eliminate our dependence on oil from Middle East that will then prevent us from having ever to send our young men and women into conflict again in the Middle East." - John McCain¯ ... while this idea that we're currently in the middle east to secure our share of the petroleum reserves comes as no surprise, to hear a politician openly say it is honestly refreshing ... unfortunately, with the political taboo against mentioning any sort of strategic necessities for war, its also a death knell for any politician to admit ... that said, if we really are in Iraq for oil, the cost is too high -- both in the number of troops that have died or have been injured, both in the currently ongoing and future economic cost of the war, and both in the cost of gasoline at the pump and rising food prices due to resources being diverged ... worse yet, there's really no good upside to our remaining in a war for oil -- we should call a stalemate, cut our losses, and withdraw from the region ... better yet, that plan will *force* our nation to go through petroleum withdrawal and start work on alternative energy sources that we need to keep our nation going strong ...

stevedtrm rated 3 months ago- From the page: " ā€oeMy friends, I will have an energy policy which will eliminate our dependence on oil from Middle East that will then prevent us from having ever to send our young men and women into conflict again in the Middle East.” Think about how amazing this is. McCain is essentially saying that our quest to ā€oespread democracy” throughout the Middle East is a sham. It has nothing to do with freeing oppressed people, or protecting Israel, or defending ourselves against future attacks. Itā€s about gaining control of foreign oil. Stunning. Will this get any significant media play?"
