stroketones discovered 4 months ago- "A recent survey that found some Florida teens believe drinking a cap of bleach will prevent HIV and a shot of Mountain Dew will stop pregnancy has prompted lawmakers to push for an overhaul of sex education in the state. "

Haxwell rated 4 months ago- Everyday, I cry a little on the inside for this country.

thisismebecca rated 4 months ago- From the page: "A recent survey that found some Florida teens believe drinking a cap of bleach will prevent HIV and a shot of Mountain Dew will stop pregnancy has prompted lawmakers to push for an overhaul of sex education in the state. The survey showed that Florida teens also believe that smoking marijuana will prevent a person from getting pregnant.State lawmakers said the myths are spreading because of Floridaâ€s abstinence-only sex education, Local 6 reported. They are proposing a bill that would require a more comprehensive approach, the report said.It would still require teaching abstinence but students would also learn about condoms and other methods of birth control and disease prevention"

M-Nome rated 4 months ago- Ugh, and when were parents ever going to talk to their kids?? At least the schools should start doing so. Thank you, Florida teens, for being so amazingly idiotic that you convinced the government that THEY are idiots.

slocum77a rated 4 months ago- oh, lord -- the ignorance of some people! reading this story reminds me of a sign i once saw on the net -- "more reading, less breeding."

hwool rated 4 months ago- Why?? Why are parents so afraid of talking to their kids?? Informing your OWN children, not waiting for the schools to do it for you will keep your child safe. We, as parents can NOT assume our children either A) know the truths about sex or B)(and I think this is the one that hits the nail on the head) are not having sex. Keep sticking your head in the sand momma and pops and not only will there be grandbabies to raise but possibly children to bury.

BluePeriphery rated 4 months ago- Parents live in a fairy tail where their kids haven't even heard of sex, and don't want to be told otherwise. Along comes the no child left behind funding so long as you don't say anything about safe sex and tada! kids drinking bleach

Xendragone rated 4 months ago- From the page: "drinking a cap of bleach will prevent HIV" Well, it will. Because you will die and be unable to transmit it further. Darwin approves.

brennemeister rated 4 months ago- Why aren't parents being blamed? Or are they this naive/gullible/stupid too?

felicitations rated 4 months ago- barf. i'm glad i live on the opposite coast.
