I just kind imagine living in an environment this modern. It just seems to lack personality. I know a lot of people love this sort of stuff so it's one of those "different strokes" things. but I just seriously don't get the appeal.

Much modern design has the problem that it looks sterile or contrived. Many of the ideas here manage to avoid both of those pitfalls.
