"A predominant quality to be expected in a successful gene is ruthless selfishness," says Richard Dawkins. Further, "this gene selfishness will usually give rise to selfishness in individual behaviour". If so, whence springs our "wish to believe otherwise", of which Dawkins also makes mention?

A thumbs down for not recognising Dawkins' contention that a selfish gene does not necessarily exclude altruism of the organism as a whole. They argue their case well but sadly I fell that they are misrepresenting what scientific research in biology really tells us about morality and that is a rather glaring mistake to make at best and blatant dishonesty at worst.
