- This is a great article. I wish I knew what I was doing wrong; salicylic acid has always made my skin tough and painful, while Tazorac and Retin-A made my skin horrifically bumpy, even though I stuck with the treatments for a long, long time (and it took me a year for my skin to return to its normal, less bumpy state). I feel like I'm just going to have to learn to be happy with myself the way I am, even if it means I'm always battling skin that is both oily and flaky.
