"Cheating, lying and hypocrisy are the specialties of the religious demagogues that maintain the farce that Iran is a democratic state." This sounds identical to the U.S. democratic state. Oh yeah, it is. American military and corporations took over and control the current regime. They are puppets of American democracy, which of course has been a farce since its inception in the 1700's. This woman tells the truth about the lie that is politics and government, almost, if not completely, worldwide. The ONLY interest of these corporations and their puppet governmental leaders is wealth, obtained by control of all 'natural and human' resources, as dictated by the business protocol being taught in ALL institutions of higher learning. This is NOT by accident; it IS by design. Brainwashing. And, we line up to pay thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, to be taught how to exploit each other and our planet for money. What a worthwhile investment for the future of our species, exploitation. Wouldn't you pay to learn how to exploit? NOT! Teri Piper

The reality is that Iran has not had a democratic, free election for the past 30 years. Mr Mousavi, if elected, will not make any changes, not because he is powerless to do so (as Khatami's supporters claimed during his presidency), but because he doesn't believe in a democratic state as his background shows. He belongs to the fanatic dictatorial era of Ayotollah Khomeini and he believes in the same command-and-control system of government. We should not forget Khomeini's statement in one of his speeches after the revolution about democracy. He said that "if all people of Iran say `yes" I would say no to something that I would believe is not right for the Islamic Nation".

From the page: "This is Iran. This is what it means to live under Ayotollah Khameini and his goons. No change is possible while Iran is controlled by autocratic, fundamentalist religious despots who determine the laws of the land. There has been no real election. Candidates are all hand-picked and cleared by a central religious committee. It is a farcical imitation of the free nomination/ election process that we have pictured in the free world. There is no possibility that a secular, pluralistic, freedom-loving democratic person who loves his or her country can become a candidate to run for president (or any other office) in Iran." Amen for telling it like it is. For real democracy, which I do believe many, MANY Iranians do want (the country is now overwhelmingly young, well-educated, and Western-leaning---despite the right-wing religious nutbag population that does exist) --- the entire political system would have to be trashed. I'm really incredibly glad I walked away from my education and into a new field/career. For years in my studies, we were "informed" that Iran had the most "democratic" regime in the Islamic world. If THIS is democracy, then I must be sorely mis-educated on the definition of democracy. Tyranny. Period.
