From the page: "Imagine that there were a Beatles record only a few people knew existed. And imagine you got the chance to listen to it, and as you did, your excitement grew, note by note. You realized it wasnâ€t merely as good as Rubber Soul, or Revolver, or Sgt. Pepperâ€s. It was much, much better. And now, imagine how badly youâ€d want to tell other Beatles fans all about it." WHAT THE FUCK. That's not cool. You can't do that to people. Otherwise... yeah good article.

For those who, like me, recognize Kristol but haven't bothered tracking details. What comes out of his mouth is a useful indicator of intent, but otherwise a meaningless waste of attention span. Anyone unwilling or unable to recognize that ... will probably refuse to read this article, or reject any sense of it. Oh, well.

Fantastic article. I do always love seeing Billy Kristol interviewed because he is so happy to lie and misinform. This description of an old 2003 interview excellently focuses on the interesting parts and does some interesting fact-checking on Kristol. The history of PNAC and the origin of Kristol's _Weekly Standard_ are fascinating lessons of elite political prowess that is only properly examined when you look into exactly HOW Kristol is wrong when he says the things he does. It doesn't take long to see that this upstanding individual is not merely ignorant or forgetful.

blah, blah, blah, Israel sucks, blah, blah, Imperialistic USA, blah, blah, blah... and the band plays on. We should have just bombed the crap out of Iraq to make the point, got the hell out and let them get on with the business of killing each other. Then I wouldn't be inundated with all this useless blathering.

This is a wonderful read. Epic, in fact.

Sadly, it's not like those of us who have been paying attention don't know this already. Those of us who were 'fooled' (I am trying to be polite here) don't care anyway.

From the page: "The moral credentials of this war are strong. We'll see if we follow through. I agree with Mr. Ellsberg on this, if were not serious about helping the Iraqi people rebuild their country and about helping promote decent democratic government in Iraq; it will be a much less morally satisfying and fully defensible war. I'm happy to be held to a moral standard. I ask that it be a serious moral standard."
