Whom Would Jesus Burn? From the page: "The Mount Vernon public-school science teacher who won't remove his personal Bible from the top of his desk also is accused of conducting a religious "healing session" during school and burning crosses onto students' arms. Administrators say John Freshwater taught his own religious beliefs in his classes, including describing the meaning of Good Friday and Easter."

Once more, people fail to understand that the separation of church and state means no religious instruction in public schools. Seriously.

First off, I'm an agnostic. That said... "The 'healing' allegedly occurred when Freshwater was a chaperone for a CHRISTIAN student-athlete group." So it may be a school group, but if it's a CHRISTIAN group, who gives a damn? And who really cares whether there's a bible on his desk? The only things he may have done wrong, in my mind, is the religious posters, perhaps him doing some preaching, and the branding story, if it's true. But there's nothing wrong with having a bible on his desk unless he's reading it to students. There's nothing wrong about religious (even though somewhat fanatic) comments if it's at a RELIGIOUS event. Sheesh.

They didn't fire him right away? Shouldn't this guy be in prison for a long time?

Craziness - The Mount Vernon public-school science teacher who won't remove his personal Bible from the top of his desk also is accused of conducting a religious "healing session" during school and burning crosses onto students' arms. Administrators say John Freshwater taught his own religious beliefs in his classes, including describing the meaning of Good Friday and Easter.

""If they were going to do anything, they should have taken him out and told him, instead of making all this news about it, and making such a commotion."" - What they SHOULD have done was take his sorry ass out behind the school and shot him. I hope someone brands a large satanic symbol in him, since it isn't that big of a deal apparently.

They NEED to make a big deal about it because it is very very screwed up. If there is media attention maybe people will get motivated to enforce laws about keeping public school secular.

He burned fucking crosses on to students arms, and we're worried about a Bible on his desk? WTF?!
