doug316 rated 8 weeks ago- Not the easiest install, but a great way to run linux at close to native speed under windows. Check out cygwin for simple tasks, but use colinux if you need the speed.

ridleyscott rated 4 months ago- This is the best possible way to linux if you just can't stop running windows. It is better than all the emulators in term of performance (cause it's not an emulator). you can use this!

Korayem rated 5 months ago- From the page: "Cooperative Linux is the first working free and open source method for optimally running Linux on Microsoft Windows natively. More generally, Cooperative Linux (short-named coLinux) is a port of the Linux kernel that allows it to run cooperatively alongside another operating system on a single machine. For instance, it allows one to freely run Linux on Windows 2000/XP, without using a commercial PC virtualization software such as VMware, in a way which is much more optimal than using any general purpose PC virtualization software. In its current condition, it allows us to run the KNOPPIX Japanese Edition on Windows "

btocher rated 15 months ago- Freely run Linux on Windows 2000/XP.

tbc rated 18 months ago- This might be handy. I have some machines running Windows that I'm not ready to give up yet. But I've been having problems with Cygwin lately. This sounds like a workable (and fun) alternative.

loupgaroublond rated 21 months ago- Well folks, I'm back, and with my brand new machine. Gonna be running Colinux on it, so check it out!

"... "If Linux runs on every architecture, why should another operating system be in its way? " ..." (excerpted) I'm definitely going to give this a whirl right away...

oflahertymichael rated 32 months ago- now it's posible to run windows and linux on top of eachother :)

Gravis rated 33 months ago- qemu is a much better way to run any OS ontop of an OS. like linux on windows, windows on linux, windows on windows, or linux on linux. qemu is the way to go.
