Sorry, but 10krpm drives are pointless unless striped. Set them up in RAID-0, then have a large data drive for storage (with or without redundancy.) Sure, you can make the argument that it's bad to stripe a boot disk, but if that presents a problem then you aren't backing up effectively.

I have a 10K RPM Raptor X, and am very happy with it. When loading multiplayer games I'm just about always the first to finish loading.

Wait for solid state drives. He is also referencing AnandTech, which I have found to be flat-out wrong on important issues like RAID.

stupid, you would want your drive with the games to have the faster drive.
