The original Coby started Coby.com years ago... now the firm is suing him for the website name rights. WTF?!?! From the page: "Today, May 8, 2006, I (Coby) picked up some unknown registered mail from my post office. It contained notice that a complaint concerning the rightful ownership of coby.com is about to be filed against me. In essence, the Giant and their lawyers are attempting to characterize me (Coby) as someone who is using coby.com in bad faith. Could this be because I (Coby) once told them that I (Coby) was not interested in selling coby.com?"

- Companies try this kind of thing all the time to push the little guy into a sale/settlement. This will only be news if they start to succeed in court, in the event of which plenty of lawyers will want his (Coby's) case.

- Corporate sharks want this guys domain name: coby.com. Never mind that not only did he get it first, but coby is his F%ing name. Madbat fails to see the difference between corporate giants like Coby who will sue a man for using his own name and a frigging pirate (Arr! Hand it over!)

- This will leave you with your mouth gaping open. A company, COBY Consumer Electronics, (who LOVES to refer to themselves as "famous" and "internationally known") is suing a guy, whose name is Coby, for the use of the domain name, "coby.com". They claim that he has NO right to use the name "coby.com" and that he is using it 'in bad faith'. It's made worse by the fact that the Coby Consumer Electronics logo is so close to the design of the Sony Corporation that Sony could probably win a lawsuit against Coby.

- Someone down there thought all those mentions of "Coby" was a typo.... it's COBY not CODY... anyway... this is a great "Fuck the industry" site... even if he's not tellin you, the industry is telling you "Fuck the industry before we fuck you first"....
