Me: I pay taxes to educate the children of heterosexual children. Yet, I cannot get tax breaks for a same sex partner. I cannot get partner benefits at most companies. If my partner is sick and in a coma, I cannot legally visit him in a hospital if his family bars me from doing so. If I lose my partner, unless I jump through legal loopholes, I cannot have his remains nor his estate or house we shared.
