Xtine66 discovered 2 months ago- One of the oddest and most fascinating cars to be sold at the 2006 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Auction was this 1919 La Bestioni, a beastly racer [echoing] an era when monster racers thrilled onlookers and terrified their drivers. Hidden by a 2-seat, boat-tail body is a 14-liter, 6-cylinder engine which, like its chassis, began life as a pre-1920's American La France firetruck....Estimates as to La Bestioni's top speed are missing, leading one to suppose that nobody had the nerve to find out.... I'd happily put it in The Stig's capable hands and have him plumb its depths. I'd also happily scare ahem hell outta other drivers.
