Some of the most interesting watches I've ever seen. Well, the most actually. And what's more, the one behind them seems to be a nice fellow. It's worth reading the interview. Oh, and p.s. If a lot of folks "babble" about the watches, it doesn't mean that we're sheep. People can be so bloody narrow-minded sometimes.

I really liked the interview. And if you check out his website, some of the watches really are interesting.

Interview, extremely interesting, with Haruo Suekichi, that Japanese watch maker artist. Also, many other interviews available.

Great interview with a humble, unpretentious, very talented watchmaker/artist. He has some interesting thoughts about the nature of time; it's cool that he thinks about that, and that the interviewer asked about it. The names of some items in his website store are in English, but even if they weren't, it would be worth a visit for people who can't read Japanese. His watches look amazing... I really hope he doesn't sell his business, or let any big corporation, or land baron type become a major investor. If he wants to move to New York, he should go for it. Lots of people in the U.S. would want to buy his watches.

I went in to one store and showed them a watch, trying to ask if they had that kind of material for sale, and the guy says to me, "Oh fuck you! Come on!" and I was like, "Huh? 'Fuck you'?" And then he turns to his friend and say, "Look at this fucking crazy watch this mother fucker made!" And I was like, "Why are they calling me a mother fucker?"
