- i am VERY suspicious that these photos are faked. the image quality of the crystals and the men is often inconsistant; the crystals are pretty solidly slightly blurry, while the men are mostly fairly detailed. there is not a lot of light interaction between the two i.e. consistant shadows and lighting, and the lense flare looks _VERY_ photoshop. and i've never _EVER_ seen or heard of large scale crystal formations like this. faked photos such as these, often with little accompanying stories, are VERY popular on the internet. if i had access to a pretty impressive clump of crystals and rocks or a geode maybe just about a foot in size, tooke some closeup shots of it with some fancy lighting, and then staged some shots of some random guys in hardhats, i could have photos just like these (a lot better, actually) in just a few hours without breaking a sweat. they probably just found the crystal photos somewhere and just used them, they're so blurry. this is probably just a large geode in a museum somewhere, 2 ft diameter tops. the third one looks especially fake. his hand looks very unnatural, and there should be SOME kind of shadow behind him from the direct light source at his feet. the first two are much better done, but obviously use the same source photos. the third was probably added on later by someone just wanting to prove they could do the same.
