limabean00 discovered 7 weeks ago- What is it that makes parents think their own babies are the cutest babies in the world? What makes them so unabashedly biased? CBS News correspondent Steve Hartman tries to explain the phenomenon, using his own personal fatherly experience - and his son, George.

Cathy-Cupcake rated 7 weeks ago- From the page: "The picture I originally showed people was an actual picture of my son. Then I started showing an "uglified" version. Believe it or not, everyone still gushed over my little monster, although some more convincingly than others. " Giggle, giggle, goggle. Wonderful article.

- Not all babies are cute, we all know this. Still, we say some babies are cute when honestly they are not. But really...who cares?

fredzena rated 7 weeks ago- Confirmation our world is one driven by genetic arrogance/narcissism and lies.

Serinadruid rated 7 weeks ago- My kids are both the cutest kids ever. Having said that I've seen ONE ugly baby before. Newborn to 3months that kid was UGLY but then next time I saw him he was cute.. However because it is almost impossible for me to lie, I never said "Oh what a cute baby" it was always more like "Oh look at those eyes" or "He's SO little, aww" I think 99.9% of babies are ADORABLE and here is why. They scream and cry and wake you up all the time if they weren't cute they wouldn't make it. Its simply how we survive as a race, its built into us that our spawn is incredible and wonderful and just completely the bestest creation ever ever. If we didn't feel that way no one would ever want to get pregnant in the first place.

BrowseJunk rated 7 weeks ago- I have to agree that all parents think that their babies are the cutest in the world and to be honest I just assume allow them to stay in their little worlds, but I have to admit even when I see a baby that is not cute I can't bring myself to actually say that. I've seen quite a few baby's this year as it seems to be a baby boomer again and they have all been more on the ugly side than cute. Of course their mothers swear up and down that they are the cutest babies and always state that they are not just saying that because they are their kids. Well, you know how when you fall in love with someone they become more and more beautiful to you? I think this is the case with parents and their children.

- How come no one's let on that 'cute' means 'ugly... but adorable' (at least on some definitions)? Easiest dodge ever - especially if we take it as read that all babies are adorable.

KoMashka rated 7 weeks ago- Is my baby cute? Of course!!! Are all babies cute??? No! After born of my daughter many other babies look for me like usual people - not cute, not funny, often not fine. May be this is mother's instinct...

- I think this is great! Most new parents don't seem to realize that ALL babies look like lizards when they are born. It's ok...it's not permanent :D They are still beautiful beings of creation....but sometimes they are not so cute :D

- I think it's perfectly fine to think your child is the cutest baby in the world! I mean every child needs to have someone in their corner who thinks they are the most beautiful and wonderful and give them a good dose of positive self esteem. This is especially true if a child is not the most beautiful, because it won't be long before the shallow mean kids will make sure the poor child knows all their imperfections.
