sargt000 discovered 16 months ago- ***rant***wtf. ok, i GET that there are no hills in saskatoon. i get that it would probably take a LOT to wipe out on your bike when you can see your destination for 10 minutes. but the opponent's complaint that it would deter people from cycling is such crap. we've had a helmet bylaw in bc for years. i don't even think about getting on my bike without it, even if it's a senior citizen tour around the park with friends. hell, when i lived in edmonton, we had to have bells (bylaw) so how fucking cool was i. "ding ding! to your right!" awesome. all it takes is to see what i saw last year: a car, hood and windshield smashed, a helmet broken in two on the street, and a cyclist walking around with only minor injuries. on the plus side, i guess more organ donors may come out of saskatoon - apparently all this crazy safety is actually preventing people from brain death and reducing the number of organ donors. so thanks, saskatoon!***end rant***
