jerpic discovered 2 months ago- This is a sad story about one of the serious drawbacks to VoIP-based telephone service. If families take the time to understand how 911 works on VoIP, and how and when to update their physical address listed on their account, this could be prevented. If you have VoIP phone service and move-house, for the Love of God, please take five simple minutes to update your physical address with your VoIP provider. It's something that is easily done online and can save your life if you ever have to call 911 and can't talk. If you move-house and do not let your VoIP service know, it is not their fault (nor the 911 PSAP's fault) if emergency responders are sent to your old address. How sad.
