- A reminder of how good Calvin and Hobbes could be when Bill was really on form. I particularly like the second strip which neatly reminds us of Hobbes' twin personas.

- I'm sorry, but every time I read Calvin & Hobbes, I get more and more aware of this sinking feeling that it is just a goddamned sickly melodramatic comic that seemed a lot better at an earlier age. It's like salve for the soul afraid to face the real world. And I know how much we want to escape from this world so full of sadness and fleeting moments, but really, I think we'd be better off if we just faced it head-on instead of coating it in this syrupy ooze of feelgoodiness that keeps us from moving on to the other side.
