From the page: "The challenge is to try simple living for a day, spend time with family and friends, rather than spend money on them. People make a pact with themselves to take a break from shopping as a personal experiment or public statement and the best thing is - IT'S FREE!!!"

Hmm so the secret to changing the world is to buy nothing for one whole day then feel smug and self important about it? Way to fight the power!!!

ah,once again my favorite holiday. For me Thanksgiving is the end of the Days of Grief and Rage celebrated since Columbas Day and signals the Season of Not Shoping,I buy nothin till after new years. Christmas in America is landfills, maybe this year touring I do some dumpster diving project

I like the idea of this, just to make people think if nothing else. I live by this rule anyways. I have many, many buy nothing days. The less I own the lighter I feel.

I really hate this kind of crap. This is in the same category as don't buy gas for a day, turn your lights off for an hour, and my real favorite, don't buy X from monopolistic company Y. This way you can just stock up the day before and/or recover the day after. Know what? Want to do something? Make a change and stick with it. Don't give me this 24 hour bull.

It's good to think sometimes: "Do I need this?"
