I used to respect the concept of Anonymous and 4chan as a thing of latent potential, but now I realize that, like Twitter, it's just the product of human stupidity being channeled a certain way into a successful phenomenon. Really. He even says it himself: He didn't know what the fuck he was making when he started it. It's only because of its design characteristics of lacking retention and allowing anonymity that it struck a nerve with the online idiots. That's not something that should be respected. Fuck that. And fuck Anonymous. That is just human stupidity and moral nihilism being brewed into a colossal pot of lulzy pointlessness. That being said, the thought occurs to me now that this is, in fact, doing us a service. I don't mean in some stupid "getting rid of/allocating the trash" kinda way. It's forcing us to face the true darkness of humanity, in a sense. It's exposing and revealing people for what they really are. And it's only through being able to confront and overcome this overwhelming force of moral nihilism that we see but a small sample of here will we ever stand a chance of any semblance of evolution as a species. Though personally I still think we're fucked. :P

From the page: "I like to think that I've grown as a person, but at the same time I think a little piece of me continues to die every year. " hahah
