LIFE IS A JOKE BY CHRIS MITCHELL http://www.bulletfilm.com/movie/220 Strongly recommended for Monday morning to cheer you up. From executive producer Tony Clark comes a short film that brings jokes to life. "Life's a joke" is the story of a man who's not getting any...jokes, or the other thing. Adolph Shultz (Chris Mitchell) has no sense of humor and his wife is cheating on him. He visits psychiatrist, Dr. Bellum, played by Carl Ballantine (McHale's Navy, Speedway), and is informed that stress is killing him. So the man walks into a bar, the jokes continue all around him, fast and furious, but Adolph is oblivious. His best friend Bucky (Lancer Shull) tries to cheer him up, but after too many drinks, Adolph ends up in St. Bernard's Hospital under the care of Dr. Howard, played by Rome Mendheim. Our unfortunate protagonist is surrounded by hospital humor, yet still doesn't heed the sage advice of Dr. Bellum and ends up face to face with a comical St. Peter, played by veteran comic, Bruce Baum (Make Me Laugh, The Simpsons). Will Adolph discover the error of his ways and finally get some? We can't give away all the punch lines here. Chris Mitchell wrote "life's a joke" and co-directed the short along with Gregor Joackim, whose feature film, "The Trouble With Lou" won the Moviemaker Breakthrough Award at the Slamdance Film Festival in 2001. The short also features the talents of Jeanne Lombardelli as Judy, Adolph's cheating wife, Eric Buss as The Lounge Singer, R.A. Mihailoff (Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III), Eddie Driscoll (Jersey Boys), Rebecka Zamolo (The Portal), Bob Rusch (Wizard of Gore), and Allison Spiegel (The Bloodstained Bride). "Life's a joke" will be hitting the festival circuit very soon and hopefully be made into a feature. "Making this film has been a two year process." says Mitchell. "I feel like I told a joke in 2005, and I'm still waiting to hear the laughter. I'm very excited to finally see this thing on the big screen and hear the audience response." http://www.bulletfilm.com/movie/220 The website is www.lifesajokemovie.com
