Oh boy, a male questioning the wisdom of marriage. He must be a fat ugly pedophile loser who hates women, America, and wants to skin children in his spare time while spreading aids via rape and turn every little girl in the world into a slut or whore.I mean that's pretty much the reaction I... more

I understand the point of view expressed by the author of this article. Having been divorced I know the pain it causes personally. Not having children in my first marriage I can only imagine the heartache and disillusionment felt by the children. I do however disagree that people shouldn't get married. Speaking from a Christian viewpoint marriage can be very fulfilling and growth inspiring. My second wife is the love of my life and we are sharing and growing daily. Unfortunately my wife and I have seen how the church at times has no outlet for single people. Much of the activity in church is focused on families and married couples. We don't condone singles being put on the back burner but work within the church culture to provide a venue where Christ's light shines through our single brothers and sisters.

Of course marriage works but you cannot just sit there, you do have to want it to work for you!

Oh boy, a male questioning the wisdom of marriage. He must be a fat ugly pedophile loser who hates women, America, and wants to skin children in his spare time while spreading aids via rape and turn every little girl in the world into a slut or whore.I mean that's pretty much the reaction I get when I tell people they're being played by the state, and marriage these days is about as romantic as a slave pairing. From the page: "Spouses have more rights than significant others."Yea and all that means is that the government has stepped way the hell too far into our lives and bedrooms already."That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it." Thomas Jefferson, Declaration of IndependenceJuly 4, 1776

from the page: So what is the point of marriage if 1 out of 2 happy couples are choosing to ruin their perfectly good relationship?

I like how this is tagged under ''self-improvement''. Of course the ultimate point seems to be the obvious-it's different for everyone and there are pros and cons. Of course there are! Of course it is! lol

As a non-married person in a long term, co-habitating relationship, I see lots of pros and cons to getting married. This one may make you think.

LMAO at all the comments! I disagree with Adam because I'm in a happy marriage and have been for 12 years but we're all different and I don't think it's something that you can analyze and come out with a definitive answer, but it IS an interesting take and worth reading.
