Was it a concrete eyesore or was it an aesthetically interesting example of 60's architecture? Beauty's in the eye of the beholder, I guess.

The Tricorn was utterly and irredeemably awful. It was a disgrace to Portsmouth's architectural character, and that's saying something. The structure's unpopularity was nothing to do with its latter-day neglect, although that certainly didn't help: it was its monstrous scale, brutal ugliness, tawdry banality and inhuman arrogance that did for it. This is an interesting and thoughtful site, however.

As 60's architecture goes this maybe warrants saving because it has certain redeeming qualities, the principal being - don't do buildings like this again please
