Study a little of chemistry and you will see it is not as exaggerated you may think. The reviews for this page are funny, attack their habits or believes and people will bite you! Without checking if the information are true or even partially true. Yes, you can discuss some points or the article tone (maybe you don't like to feel guilty), but the physiologic process, you can't deny it. There is no daily value for sugar. (from Fyreowl) " The percentage is *not* of the RDA for that item, it's the percentage of *total daily calories*. The 8% on the bottle, means that one serving of soda makes up 8% of your total calories for the day. The site indicated one serving of soda has 10 teaspoons of sugar. 10tp = 40g, which *is* your daily allotment of sugar, according to the FDA, so the site does have that correct. The site did not say being a diuretic was bad, it said the phosphoric acid binding to minerals which are then flushed out due to the diuretic effect was bad." (Thanks to Keaven for your good and exact explanations) The coca contains phosphoric acid and not Sprite, or other sodas. At Sennatrem that made this remark I will say: Yes but Sprite contains benzoic acid! Which is not without danger. If you call us "health nuts", REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENS WITH PARABEN. I heard about paraben dangers since a long time, people was making fun about it. Oh listen, If it is of any danger, the government would stop that, don't be silly and suspicious. And what about now? Pharmaceutic industry remove paraben from their products because people don't want it anymore. And the same thing about amiant in my country. (France) " Bunch of BS. Just as an example, from the page: "Your body ups your dopamine production stimulating the pleasure centers of your brain. This is physically the same way heroin works, by the way." Well, DUH! So will being happy, which releases dopamine. So will listening to an awesome song, which also releases dopamine. Don't be deceived, Coke is not a super healthy drink, but it's not THAT bad." By: Progman32. The goal of the dopamine system is to learn what is good for us. When you are in love with someone and you release dopamine, you will learn you like loving someone. When you release too much dopamine by a chemical products, the rewarding system is biased because you always need more and more of the substance. Your brain become unable to have his dopamine shoot without this substance, that's the risk and that's the addiction. You don't need to love more and more someone, if you do, you probably have big psychoaffective problems. That's because the system and the goals are not exactly the same in the 2 cases. That's one of the reason they compare this with drug (and the organic destructive effect). The comparison may seems choking, it is a dosis issue, but the mechanism is EXACTLY the same. The impact is a lot smaller in this case, I agree but same mechanism. How can you deny that in a scientific way?? Cranberry juice = 45 grams of sugar. (according to Tecknontatrrone's review) You may know that normally, i-e if the juice is natural and with no addings, the sugar have not the same chemical nature! To compare fruits sugar and added sugar is really a nonsense. And the fruits have other chemicals substance that help sugars to be metabolized. Chemistry is not a lego science, it is a synergy! Sugar lowers your immunity and is a kind of corrosive for your organism (see the diabet), but it is too long to explain how in this review...

Is this real? Sounds a bit extreme.
