Beowulf computing is a fascinating concept that I first read about in Scientific American--a few researchers couldn't get the $$ for the computing power they needed for a project so a few hundred 486's, P1's, Linux installations, and BNC Ethernet adapters later (they started, like, ten years ago) they had a decent MFlop-count system! Interesting reading for anyone who can find the original article. Sorry, I lost mine and have no idea of the issue; sometime in 2003 I think... -Ron
