Obama

What little faith I have left in politicians, I am investing with this man. While I am not optimistic that the corporate suits won't get to him, I am far less pessimistic about him than any politician since..well, Eugene McCarthy in 1968, come to think of it..

Update, 1/7/08: I still believe what I wrote last February, and my enthusiasm grows. What we need more, much more, than candidates grinding on and on about the changes they will make for whatever citizen strata they are speaking to, is inspiration. We desperately need to be reminded that we can get along, agree on most things, and care about each other. Obama is the only one doing that. Screw his so-called "inexperience;" that's a plus in my mind..

Well, I'll just go ahead and say it: Barack Obama is the man. His climb up the political ladder has been an impressive sight thus far, and I'm pulling for him to make it all the way to the White House in the fall. After the last 8 years of the worst kind of politics imaginable, a man of Barack Obama's character and integrity could only be a breath of much needed fresh air. I mean, the man is still a politician, and a very shrewd politician at that, but his origins are humble and his virtues appear to be rooted in something very real.

Obama in 2008!

FIGHT THE SMEARS details the facts vs. the smears being publicized about Barack Obama. Interesting stuff, lotsa source material for facts, and the names of the people and groups perpetuating the lies. Whether you like him or not, it's good to know when you're being lied to by the media... The sticky up top is to Obama's main page, the one below is just to Fight the Smears, and I don't know how to take out the top one or I would. :)

Are you fucking kidding me? People actually want this wet behind the ears, intellectually vacuous, sloganeering, empty suited, Alfred E. Neuman look-alike running the country??!?! But he's for change! Who the fuck isn't for change? Wow, that's awfully courageous of him to advocate change. Change of what? How? What are his plans? What are his ideas? He doesn't have any, and he doesn't have to because his followers wouldn't listen anyway. They're far too caught up in the rapture, the sheer fervor of Obamania to give a shit whether or not they're being sold an empty bill of worthless goods. I'm the change I've been waiting for? Are you SERIOUSLY FUCKING KIDDING ME? God help us all if this douche bag gets elected.

If Barack loses, that will overtake Kirk Gibson's 1988 HR for the most depressing non-personal moment of my life.
