"After Robert Jasper had climbed Tomahawk, he and I returned with his wife, Daniela, to Isenfluh in order to get photos of that route and of Chicken out of Control. I took several rolls of Robert and then asked Daniela if she would climb so that I could get some shots of her. The sun was high and it was getting hot. By the time Daniela reached the crux sequences, the ice was melting fast and dripping down like rain. Nevertheless, Daniela agreed to repeat the crux moves so that I could shoot some different angles. When we were done, both Daniela and I were soaked to the skin! You could almost pour the water out of our boots. Luckily, we had a change of clothes, enabling us to continue the shoot."

"I wanted to get some ice photos with Uli Steck, Will Gadd and Kim Csizmazia, but due to rising temperatures the frozen waterfalls in Grindelwald and Kandersteg were returning to water. Instead, we went to a fantastic ice cave at the base of a glacier in the same area. Will placed the ice screws for the route by rappelling. We were, after all, training. Kim, meanwhile, set up a belay on the opposite wall so that I could take photographs from there. I followed Will through my telephoto lens but wasn't happy with the images. The wall had at least a 45-degree overhang, yet through the lens it looked flat. After shooting a few rolls, I moved to the side and took more photos of Will and Kim. It turned out to be a wise decision: once I was home, I could see that the shots from the side were definitely better."
