Kalster discovered 4 months ago- Damian Conway's hilarious web site usability presentation from Webstock 2008. Includes cute kitten aversion therapy, how to use fonts as a weapon and the Grandma Usability Metric: "When designing shopping carts, try geo-location as an instrument of torture. Show only products not in stock, not available in their country or illegal in their country"

AlainSaffel rated 4 months ago- It's really frustrating when you visit sites that violate basic design rules. It really detracts from the message the site is trying to send. I think part of the problem is that they don't consult someone about their site architecture before they get rolling with a web designer. And, it's sad to say, that anyone can hang out a shingle and call themselves a web designer. I have put together a few pages, and they work, but I would never put the site together myself. There are a lot of talented web designers out there. Use them! On the other hand, I can help them set up a site that looks good, is well organized and will rank well in the search engines.

spostareduro rated 4 months ago- 22 web design ideas to fend off the non-geeks and prevent Web 2.0 from taking hold.

AbleReach rated 4 months ago- LOL. From the page: "16) Terrorize them with typography: Most non-geeks don't care about typography. They don't even have a favorite typeface! If they do, it's comic sans. Or Impact! All they care about is whether they can read it. Therefore, typography DOES matter. Go with something unreadable! Go with Abduction 2 font or something just as annoying. Fonts are not toys people, fonts are weapons!"
