hhj discovered 3 months ago- ...I attended Iowa State University and was enrolled in the Graphic Design program. This was my major for three years before I switched to a different major. Although I believe my college classes are invaluable, I would still consider myself self-taught. I have been working at being an artist for close to 17 years now. I have experimented with different mediums, subject matters and being that I am self-published have made the efforts to learn about marketing and the business end of being an artist. I am a versatile, prolific Iowa born and raised artist. I work with the mediums of acrylics, alkyds, watercolor and a mixed media of watercolor and colored pencil. My subject matter ranges from snowmen to horses and cattle to fruit and landscapes. All of my art is inspired by the connection I have to Iowa and the serene beauty that I see around me..
